FAQs
I’d be a little offended if you didn’t have questions!
What does a Copywriter do?
Short version
Copywriters are the people you call on for compelling written content that is crafted to achieve its purpose such as selling products, signing up for services, or simply building brand trust and recognition.
We’re not the legal intellectual property protection thing you might be thinking of…that’s ‘copyright’.
Complete version
Copywriters are the storytellers of your brand in just about every aspect.
We shape content filled with research, charisma (or ‘rizz’ for the Gen Z population with their perfect skin). We cleverly weave marketing strategies into your copy that subtly persuades audiences to do the thing you want them to do.
Research
Copywriters do A LOT of research on your industry, your competitors, and your products and services. We look at what’s working, what others are doing well, and how your brand can snatch the crown.
Consultation
There’s no such thing as ‘too much detail’ when you’re consulting with a copywriter. We take ALL the notes, scribbles, and pages-long master plans to map out and craft your copy. We get to know you and your business so we can learn as much as we can to inform the best approach.
Editing & revising
The version of the copy we send you has likely been chopped and changed more times than a live action Disney remake (except with a more pleasing outcome…I’m looking at you, Aladdin). We go back and forth with you to refine, tweak, and perfect the copy before it gets sent out into the big, wide world for your audience to admire.
Do Copywriters use AI?
Ooof! You don’t mess around with your questions! (I’m aware that I wrote these questions, but you still clicked on it!)
I can’t speak to all copywriters of the world (we don’t have a secret annual underground meeting to discuss world domination through targeted semantics…or anything weird like that…).
But what I CAN say is that this copywriter doesn’t.
“But Sam! If you don’t evolve with the future, you’ll get left behind! Adapt or die!”
Firstly, that’s a little violent.
Secondly, I find AI stifling to my creativity and original thinking.
Call me old fashioned, but I believe that words and their creative use are the sole property of the human condition.
Humans should speak to humans.

What’s your process?
- We have a quick 30 minute chat to talk big ideas
- You go into a little more depth in an online questionnaire that paints the big picture
- I customise a proposal and quote specific to your project
- You say, “I LOVE IT! Let’s go.” And we make some magic together (presumptuous, I know. BUT, I'm that confident.)
How much does a Copywriter cost?
Every copywriter works in mysterious ways (not really, it just sounds cool).
The answer is a very frustrating, it depends.
This copywriter charges by the project.
This means that the quote you receive in your proposal is inclusive of everything – revisions, research, consultations, emails at odd times of night… you name it.
Unless the project scope changes, the direction pivots, or you become a ghost mid-project with no explanation, the quoted price is the price you pay.
No unexpected invoices, no dodgy add-ons, just the agreed project cost.
Do you have a copywriting rate card?
Sure!
Just a little FYI - Website content proposals are samples-only and are subject to change pending project type and scope.
With that said, check out my rates here.
