AI Content vs. Witty Wordsmith

Proof that a robot will always sound like a robot.

It’s a showdown I’ve been wanting to have for a while now.

I can confidently smirk at the notion of others using these tools to get some content out there or use it as a springboard for embellishments, but I’ll level with you – your content will always sound like a robot.

And at the risk of angering the increasingly self-aware AI monitoring this text, robot content is boring.

To demonstrate this, I’ve gone into the ring with an AI writing tool and given it a small writing task.

I told it to be funny, creative, and gave it a list of parameters so it had a sporting chance.

*SPOILER ALERT* It was about as funny as a piece of software is capable of being (not very).

I’ve then written my own (human) version for comparison.

So, without further ado *cracks knuckles* – here’s the difference between a clever piece of software and a clever person who writes for a living.

Boring robot AI Piece on ‘5 Signs your Cat Might Hate You’

If you’re a cat owner, chances are you’ve asked yourself if your cat loves you or hates you. While cats are known for their independent nature, there are some signs that your feline friend might not be so fond of you. Here are 5 signs that your cat might hate you and how to fix them!

  1. Your cat avoids you: If your cat is avoiding being around you or hiding when you come into the room, this could be a sign that they don’t like you.
  2. Your cat won’t let you pet them: If your cat used to let you pet them but now actively avoids your touch, this could be a sign that they don’t enjoy your affection.
  3. Your cat hisses at you: Cats hiss when they feel threatened or uncomfortable. If your cat is hissing at you, it could be a sign that they don’t like you.
  4. Your cat won’t make eye contact with you: Eye contact is important in cat communication. If your cat actively avoids eye contact with you, it could be a sign that they don’t like you.
  5. Your cat doesn’t respond to your calls: If your cat used to come running when you called their name but now ignores you, this could mean that they don’t like your presence.

Witty Wordsmith on '5 Signs Your Cat Might Hate You'

They’re cute, they’re fluffy, and they also might be secretly plotting your death while you sleep.

A cat’s love is fickle, fleeting, and inextricably linked to the kind of food you buy them.

From scooping their poop to scratching behind their ears, your love for them speaks for itself, but how can you tell the feeling’s mutual?

Here are 5 signs that you should consider sleeping with one eye open or having ‘the talk’ with your cat.

1. Your cat frequently ghosts you, even though it probably knows how much that hurts your feelings

2. Your cat becomes a contortionist to avoid your pets.

3. Your cat hisses at you because it feels threatened and you’re hiding in a cupboard because you feel threatened.

4. Your cat won’t make eye contact with you, even when you shout, “LOOK AT MOYYYY”

5. Your cat ignores your call, even at the prospect of nommy din dins

The Verdict

AI writing tools are limited by their very nature.

And while they’re useful for churning out volumes of uninspiring content, your satisfaction with what they generate will come down to whether you’re happy with your content having no personality, brand identity, or voice that’s true to your business’s tone.

I’ll leave that in discerning hands!
